Statistic of the Month

Among Nebraska cities and towns, the fastest population growth is in the largest 3 counties: Recently released population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show that from the 2010 Census to July 1, 2013, the 12 fastest growing communities (with at least 200 people) are all located in either Douglas, Lancaster, or Sarpy counties. As in the 2000s decade, Gretna has had the most growth so far this decade (+26%). Ralston, Papillion, Bennet, and Roca round out the top 5 fastest growing. Only Juniata and Roseland in Adams County are in the top 15 fastest growing outside of the “Big 3” counties.
